شاپیگان به چه معناست؟

شاپیگان، نام گنجینه ای افسانه ای متعلق به عصر هخامنشیان می باشد که در لغتنامه ی دهخدا به صورت زیر تشریح شده است:

شاپیگان . (اِخ ) (گنج ) خزینه ای که بنا بروایت دینکرت گشتاسب یا دارا پسر دارا اوستا کتاب مقدس زرتشتیان را در دو نسخه بر یکصدوبیست هزار پوست گاو با مرکب طلا نویسانده یکی را در این گنج و دیگری را در خزینه ٔ استخر (دژنپشت ) سپرد و چون اسکندر قصر شاهان را آتش زد، نسخه ٔ آخری را بسوخت و نسخه ٔ اولی را از گنج شاپیگان بیرون آورده امر کرد مطالبی از آن را که راجع به طب و نجوم بود به یونانی ترجمه کردند و سپس آن را هم بسوخت و اوستای زمان ساسانیان در قرون بعد از سینه ها جمع آوری شد.
